The National FFA Organization was founded in 1928.  Lodi FFA was established in 1928 as the first Chapter in the State of California, thus being named Lodi No. 1.  In 1933, members across the country celebrated the first national FFA Day.  In 1948, this would be changed to FFA Week and celebrated during George Washington’s birthday to recognize his pioneering contributions to American agriculture.

This is National FFA Week – Dress-up days and activities are as follows:

TODAY – Crazy Sock Day | Teacher Appreciation BBQ Lunch in the Ag Shop 

Wednesday – Inside-Out Day | Horse Races during lunch, in the Courtyard

Thursday – PJ Day | Tractor Races during lunch, in the Courtyard

Class of 2020 – current sophomores – please be sure to check the library windows for your appointment date and time with your counselor. You should have already received this information from your Sophomore English teacher. Make sure to document this time on your appointment sheet. All scheduling questions will be handled at that time. This includes questions about next year’s classes, summer school, college, and grad requirements. Please do not put in a request to see your counselor ahead of time, as they will not have the opportunity to see you. Seniors - The All Night Graduation Party tickets are available to purchase!  Tickets are $35 and include all games, food, drinks and prizes.  Last year we gave out $10,000 worth of prizes.  The party is Thursday, May 31, from 10:30 p.m. - 4 a.m.  If you buy your ticket before March 8, your name will be in a drawing to win $100 CASH!  Purchase tickets from Mrs. Lewis, before or after school, in Room 5B.  Cash or checks made out to Lodi High School.                                                                                                          Lewis

College & Career


Seniors who received a notice from CSU that they need to take the ALEKS placement exam may sign up with Mrs. Jauregui to take it at Lodi High. Check your CSU student portal to find out if you must complete this admission requirement. Test will be given twice this semester - February 27 and April 10. —Jauregui


An outreach counselor from Cosumnes River College will hold an information session for seniors on Wednesday, February 28, during 6th period. Seniors who may attend Cosumnes River or Sacramento City College should attend. Sign up in the couch area of the Library.                                                      —Jauregui


An ACT prep course will be offered at Lodi High to help students prepare for this important college entrance exam. Regular price is $99, but the class will be FREE to the first 25 juniors who bring a copy of their ACT registration to Mrs. Jauregui, in the Career Center. Class dates are March 27 and 28, from 3 – 5:30 p.m.                                                                                                                                                     —Jauregui


SeniorsMarch 2 is the deadline to submit your FAFSA or Dream Act application for the Cal Grant program. Cal Grants are FREE money and pay up to $13,000 towards college.
