Athletic Clearance

Letter to Parents

Any athlete competing in any school sponsored summer athletic program must have an updated physical to participate.  A physical is valid from May 1st -April 30 of a calendar year.  Also, any returning fall or winter athlete should get their physicals during the scheduled May physicals offered at Lodi High School.

Approximately two-six weeks prior to the season, respective coaches will announce times and places for informational and sign-up meetings in the school bulletin.  It is important that prospective athletes attend these meetings and sign-up, so that all paperwork can be verified, and athletic eligibility can be determined prior to the first day of try-outs.  It is the responsibility of the student-athlete to complete the on-line clearance per season of sport so that eligibility can be determined and return signed confirmation form, physical form, and copy of medical insurance.  Student-athletes who miss scheduled try-outs because of incomplete on-line clearance or lack of physical exam may miss the opportunity to try-out.

All incoming freshmen are automatically eligible to participate at the beginning of Fall Sports.  Each subsequent grading period will determine athletic eligibility.  All students must maintain a 2.0 Grade Point Average with  no more than one F grade in each grading period.

Before starting practices/try-outs ALL NEW ATHLETES must attend the MANDATORY NEW ATHLETE and PARENT meeting.  A meeting will be scheduled the WEDNESDAY prior to a sports season beginning.  Please check the school bulletin or website for dates and times.

The Athletic Department is anxious that returning and incoming student-athletes get off to a positive start with both their academic and athletic careers.  If we can answer any questions, or offer any encouragement, please call us at 331-7666, or drop by our office located in the South Gym and meet us.
